Kwara Relaunches 2026 Coding and Digital Literacy Programme; Week One Commences with Comprehensive 2025 Curriculum Revision.

The Kwara State Government has officially commenced the 2026 edition of the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme. Participating schools across the state recorded high attendance and renewed classroom engagement as the initiative returned to the academic calendar.

Coordinated by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Innovation, this year’s rollout builds upon the milestones achieved in 2025. The program reaffirms the administration’s commitment to institutionalizing digital capacity and technical proficiency among students statewide.

Week One activities focused on a strategic revision of the 2025 curriculum to ensure a seamless transition into advanced modules. Schools revisited foundational pillars, including computer operations, typing proficiency, programming basics, and online safety. This revision phase allows facilitators to assess progress and harmonize the learning curve before introducing the updated 2026 technical tracks.

Education stakeholders noted a steady increase in participation, reflecting a growing enthusiasm for ICT-related subjects. Administrators expressed confidence that this structured revision approach will solidify students’ technical confidence and better prepare them for the rigorous curriculum ahead.

To ensure nationwide parity, officials are closely monitoring classroom sessions for compliance with government directives. Institutions that had not yet integrated the program were directed to immediately adopt the Digital Literacy curriculum as a core academic priority.

As highlighted via the state’s digital innovation platforms, the 2026 curriculum has been expanded to include in-demand technical skills alongside essential soft skills. This evolution is designed to equip Kwara’s youth with the tools necessary to compete in a rapidly changing global technology ecosystem.

The Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme remains a cornerstone of the state’s vision to become a premier digital hub. Driven by the vision of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, this investment in grassroots digital empowerment ensures that the next generation is prepared for a technology-driven future.
