The Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme has concluded its third week of activities, with young participants across participating schools and centres deepening their understanding of problem-solving, innovative thinking, Python programming, web development, cybersecurity and project development, as preparations intensify for the forthcoming project exhibition.

The week’s activities focused on helping participants recognise everyday challenges as opportunities for innovation and explore how technology can be applied to develop practical, impactful solutions. Through hands-on learning and project-based exercises, participants continued to translate the knowledge acquired during their training into technology-driven ideas addressing real-world needs.

As part of efforts to strengthen the programme and expand learning opportunities, the week also featured a visit by *Supreme Oyewumi, Founder of Cognis Group*, to selected participating schools to assess their facilities and explore potential areas of support and partnership. Discussions particularly focused on opportunities to support the delivery of Artificial Intelligence (AI) training to participants, further enriching their exposure to emerging technologies.

The engagement was facilitated through the *Kwara State Education Trust Fund, under the leadership of its Executive Secretary, **Ms Damilola Amolegbe*, reflecting ongoing efforts to foster collaboration among stakeholders in advancing digital education and equipping young people with relevant, future-ready skills.
Speaking recently at a Kwara STEM event, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kwara State on Digital Innovations, *Hon. Ishola Kayode*, commended stakeholders and organisations working to expand access to digital skills, particularly among young people in underserved communities. He encouraged young people to approach everyday challenges with curiosity and creativity, emphasising that meaningful innovation begins with identifying problems and developing practical solutions.

Meanwhile, project development and exhibition preparations remained central to the third week’s activities. Participants continued refining their projects, incorporating lessons from previous training sessions and improving their presentation skills in readiness for the forthcoming exhibition. Selected representatives also participated in presentation rehearsals designed to build their confidence and prepare them to communicate the ideas, processes and potential impact of their projects effectively.
Project submissions also entered their final stages, with programme coordinators implementing submission deadlines and pre-exhibition presentation schedules to ensure participants and their projects are adequately prepared for the showcase.

Under the leadership of His Excellency, *Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON*, the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme continues to advance the state’s digital literacy and innovation agenda by providing young people with practical technology skills, encouraging creative thinking and nurturing a culture of problem-solving and innovation.
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Digital Innovations appreciates the Governor for his continued support and commitment to expanding digital education and creating opportunities for young people across Kwara State. The Office also acknowledges the contributions of the Kwara Education Trust Fund, Cognis Group and other stakeholders whose interest and potential partnerships continue to strengthen the programme’s mission.
