The 2026 Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme continued its impactful delivery in Week Six of the Third Term, with students across participating centres further strengthening their digital and technical competencies through engaging practical sessions.

During the week, learners explored the use of Artificial Intelligence tools to enhance their understanding of Python programming fundamentals and file handling techniques. Participants also received hands-on training in Excel for data analysis, while building awareness of data privacy and data protection principles essential for responsible digital citizenship.

The programme’s web development track introduced students to JavaScript loops, control flow, and simple user interactions, alongside continued learning in HTML, CSS, and front-end development. Learners also explored animation techniques and gained valuable insights into cybersecurity as a career path, broadening their understanding of opportunities within the digital economy.

A key highlight of the week was the ongoing pre-evaluation exercise, which provided an opportunity to assess students’ understanding of previously taught concepts and measure learning outcomes across participating centres. Alongside these assessments, the programme’s official monitoring team was actively deployed across various locations to inspect the sessions, observe the delivery of the curriculum, and directly evaluate the ongoing progress of the initiative.

The combined insights from these visits and pre-evaluations remain important tools for tracking progress and identifying areas for further improvement as the programme advances.

The programme continues to reflect Kwara State’s commitment to equipping young people with relevant digital skills and preparing them for success in an increasingly technology-driven world.

We express our profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, whose visionary leadership and dedicated support continue to create opportunities for young people to thrive in the global digital economy.
