As the 2026 Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme advances further into the Third Term, Week Eleven delivered another round of practical and project-based learning across participating centres in the sixteen LGAs. This week’s sessions focused on strengthening students’ competencies in programming, data analysis, and database management, while maintaining the programme’s standard through continuous facilitator support. During the week, senior students progressed with the development of a simple calculator application in Python. Through this hands-on project, learners applied core programming concepts including variables, user input and output, arithmetic and comparison operators, conditional statements, and while loops. The activity deepened their understanding of how interactive applications are built and how logic drives program flow.
A continuation of database management module was also introduced this week. Students were taken through the components of Database Management Systems (DBMS) and the various types of DBMS. The session laid a solid foundation for understanding how data is structured, stored, managed, and retrieved in today’s digital systems.Programme delivery was sustained by the weekly Training of Trainers session, which continues to equip facilitators with updated instructional strategies and technical knowledge to ensure continuous improvement, consistent and quality delivery across all centres.
Week 11 activities also stands out with another round of instructors evaluation, the evaluation which ended on friday deadline, is a continuation of the evaluation process to ensure and improve performance, competency and sharpen instructor program delivery. The Week 11 sessions reflected the programme’s commitment to equipping students with practical coding and digital literacy skills that prepare them for future academic and career opportunities in technology.
