The 2026 Summer Edition of the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme progressed into Week Four, with learners across participating centres continuing to build their digital skills through practical and engaging training sessions. The week focused on strengthening participants’ programming knowledge and helping them understand how different coding concepts work together. In Python, learners explored loops, conditional statements, functions, modules, match-case statements, and exception handling, while also learning how to organise programmes into reusable components.
Web development sessions introduced participants to HTML, text decoration, and form creation, alongside JavaScript lessons covering for loops, event listeners, and simple DOM manipulation. These activities provided learners with practical experience in creating structured and interactive web pages. Participants also continued developing their data skills through Excel, with lessons on data visualisation helping them understand how information can be presented in clear and meaningful formats.
As part of the programme’s continuous monitoring and assessment process, the WTEC team, led by Mrs Ibiyeye, conducted assessments across participating centres during the week. The assessments provided an opportunity to evaluate learners’ progress and gauge their understanding of the concepts covered, further supporting the programme’s commitment to effective and quality training. With the coming weeks set to transition learners further into the project-building phase, anticipation is already building as participants prepare to apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the programme to practical projects. The training will culminate in a Grand Exhibition of Projects, where participants will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and digital innovations.
